It is anticipated that the resident will spend a minimum of 2000 hours annually in program-related activities.

  • Internal Medicine 2 (APPE Preceptor)
  • Hospital Management
  • Medical Critical Care
  • Pediatrics

Required longitudinal experiences:

  • Research
  • Staffing
  • Teaching
  • Medication use evaluation (MUE)

Elective experiences:

  • Acute heart failure
  • Cardiology ICU/step down unit
  • HIV Clinic
  • Interprofessional Student Clinic (Longitudinal)
  • Neonatal ICU
  • Pediatric ICU
  • Trauma ICU
  • Urban Health Institute
  • Pharmacist-run disease-state management/medication management clinic
Value Added Activities

All USciences residents and fellows participate in the following activities, which foster the fellow’s professional growth:

  • Pharmacy Leadership Book Club
  • Whitney Award Lecture Discussions (often in person with the Award winner!)
  • Workshops on Statistics, Research Design and analyzing Research Data Using Excel
  • Discussion Groups on Research Design and Manuscript Writing
